Job summary

City of Daphne is seeking qualified Firefighter/Fire Medic personnel to perform firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical duties. The role requires CPAT completion, a high school diploma or equivalent, and Alabama certifications.

Applicants must pass a pre-employment screen and physical, with additional compensation for Paramedic license and experience. Positions include responding to alarms, extinguishing fires, vehicle extrication, and providing basic life support.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic arithmetic operations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms and emergencies including fires, hazmat, vehicle accidents, and EMS calls; provide basic life support as directed.
• Perform firefighting and rescue tasks: extinguish fires, extricate vehicles, perform rope rescues, search for victims, climb ladders, and operate fire streams.
• Conduct salvage/overhaul, assist evacuation, secure utilities, and manage traffic at scenes.
• Record data from hydrant flow tests and maintain logs and charts.
• Provide mutual aid and coordinate with police/EMS as needed.
• Operate fire pumps, aerials, and breathing apparatus; maintain equipment and vehicles.
