Job summary

Falck Rocky Mountain in Aurora, CO is seeking a qualified EMS educator to support the Clinical Education Department. The role offers pay of $29.00 - $32.00 per hour (DOE) plus a monthly stipend of $350.

Responsibilities include improving training/QA/QI programs, delivering classroom instruction, and guiding field staff through evaluations and remediation. Ideal candidates will have at least six months of busy 911 system experience, current required certifications, and strong communication

Compensation

Pay: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour (DOE)

Responsibilities
  • Make recommendations to the Clinical Education Department to improve various aspects of the training and QA/QI programs (This may include changes in specific study materials, technology, and standard operating policies, procedures, education and training.
  • Communicate company goals and standards of excellence through exemplary daily job performance, attitude, initiative, and demeanor.
  • Provide exemplary patient care and customer service.
  • Reinforce and uphold the goals and objectives of the new employee orientation program.
  • Identify, evaluate and/or remediate individuals who are not meeting and exceeding Falck’s performance standards.
  • Conduct field training, education, evaluation and remediation of new and continuing employees.
  • Provide classroom instruction in a variety of pre-hospital care related subjects.
  • Help transitional employees to define basic skills and functions.
  • Act as an educational resource for field employees and management.
  • Facilitate the smooth transition for new-hire employees as well as continuing employees with expanding and/or changing job responsibilities.
  • Identify risk components and take the appropriate action.
  • Provide detailed paperwork on all activities.
  • Assess each call situation to determine best course of action and appropriate protocol.
  • Act as team leader and take responsibility for scene management as needed.
  • Drive the ambulance or provide map-reading support to minimize call response time.
  • Current on certifications.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Adherence to and compliance with information systems
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Licensing/Certification:

Current on all county and company required certifications and licensures

Experience

Minimum of six-months experience in a busy 911 system.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Frequently: Ability to lift, carry, and balance 110 pounds; ability to exert on a regular basis 50 pounds of force and at times up to 100 pounds.

Constantly:Ability to bend and stoop, ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, possess hand-eye-foot coordination and color recognition, good manual dexterity, with the ability to perform all tasks related to Emergency Medical Services Duty.

Knowledge and Skills

Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, proficient understanding of Falck’s Policies and Procedures, various electronic record and or data tracking software as well as knowledge of Aurora geography.
