Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a compassionate paramedic for the Emergency Department at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City, MO. This on-site PRN position requires immediate patient assessment, rapid interventions, and close teamwork to ensure high-quality care in a busy ED.

The ideal candidate holds Paramedic licensure (MO DHSS) with preferred 1 year of experience. You will participate in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient

Qualifications

• Paramedic licensure (EMT-P or EMT-CP) per MO DHSS.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and medical needs and apply interventions and/or procedures within the scope of practice, when necessary and appropriate.
• Assess, intervene, and reassess patient self-report of pain symptoms promptly. Utilize an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment.
• Demonstrate understanding of medications, their actions and side effects; report pertinent information; educate patients about medications.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions in achieving goals and intended patient care outcomes.
• Maintain standards of care and implement hospital and department policies and procedures.
• Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality/performance improvement groups.
• Assist in transport of critical patients to in-patient units, if applicable.
• Report observations to physicians, supervising nurse, or charge nurse and document concisely.
• Provide quality care within a multi-disciplinary team to maximize patient satisfaction.
• May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents
