Job summary

Baltimore County is seeking licensed paramedics to join the EMS team under Pay Schedule V, Salary Grade 14F. The role requires maintaining ALS certification and serving the community with professional emergency medical care.

A recruitment and advancement bonus of $5,000 is offered, paid in $1,250 installments at 6, 12, 18 and 24 months from hire, contingent on continued service and certification maintenance.

Recruitment and Advancement Bonus

The Department will initiate a recruitment and advancement bonus of $5,000 for Paramedics. The bonus will be paid in increments of $1,250 at the intervals of 6 months, 12 months, 18 months and 24 months from the date of hire. Paramedics hired or incumbent employees advanced under this program must maintain their ALS certification (and function in Baltimore County) for a minimum of five (5) years from the date of hire.

Training and Experience

• Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate equivalent, plus possession of a Maryland Paramedic license, a Maryland Cardiac Rescue Technician license, or National Registry Paramedic certification; a Maryland Intermediate/99 certification; or a confirmation letter of successful completion of the cognitive and psychomotor examination from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians for Maryland Intermediate/99.
