Job description

Paramedic (EMT-P / LP), Interfacility and Critical Care Transport

Location: Greater Houston, TX | Type: Full Time | Setup: Onsite | Experience: Entry level welcome | Pay: Competitive

About the Role

Vents, drips, pumps, and patients who are sick enough that the sending facility wants a medic in the back, not just a ride. That's the work. You're the highest clinical authority on your unit, running ALS and MICU transports between hospitals and skilled nursing facilities across the Houston metro under the medical director's protocols.

The client is a Houston-area medical transport company serving major hospital systems, with a mix that spans BLS through critical care. Volume is steady, the receiving facilities are the ones you already know, and the clinical bar is set by the health systems that trust them with their patients.

They also built their own dispatch and ePCR platform in house, and it's aimed squarely at cutting the clerical load off your shift. Charting is faster, prior auth friction is handled upstream, and the patient information you need shows up before you're standing at the bedside asking for it.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as lead clinician on ALS, MICU, and ventilator-dependent transports

  • Assess, treat, and monitor patients within scope and per medical director protocol

  • Establish and manage IV/IO access, advanced airways, cardiac monitoring, and medications

  • Maintain continuity on complex patients, drips and vents included, from sending bedside to receiving

  • Chart accurately in the ePCR with enough detail to hold up clinically and for medical necessity

  • Drive and operate the unit safely under all applicable regulations

  • Hand off cleanly to receiving providers and keep dispatch in the loop

  • Lead your EMT partner and teach as you go

  • Own unit readiness, restock, equipment checks, and controlled substance accountability

  • Show up for training, skills verification, and CE

Why Join Us

Small enough that the operations team knows your name, big enough that the trucks are stocked and the schedule holds. They invest in training and credentialing rather than telling you to figure it out on your own time.

The tools you run on get updated based on crew feedback, so if something in the workflow is slowing you down, saying so actually changes it.
