Job description

Location: Greater Houston, TX | Type: Full Time | Setup: Onsite | Experience: Entry level welcome | Pay: Competitive

About the Role

You'll run as the highest level of clinical care on your unit, delivering ALS and critical care during interfacility and emergency transports across the Houston metro. That means MICU runs, vent-dependent patients, drips and monitoring equipment moving bedside to bedside, and you making the call on patient care under the medical director's protocols.

The client is a Houston-area medical transportation company running BLS, ALS, MICU, and critical care transports for major hospital systems and skilled nursing facilities. They're also building their own AI-native dispatch and clinical platform in house, and it's genuinely aimed at making the medic's job lighter: faster documentation, fewer clerical steps, less friction on prior auth, and the information you need surfaced at the bedside instead of buried.

If you've spent shifts fighting an ePCR that was clearly designed by someone who has never lifted a stretcher, this is the opposite of that. When a medic says something is slow or clunky, it gets fixed. Crew feedback actually shapes the roadmap.

What You'll Do
  • Provide advanced life support care on emergency and interfacility transports
  • Handle MICU and ventilator-dependent transports within scope and per protocol
  • Run thorough patient assessments, establish and manage IV/IO access, advanced airways, cardiac monitoring, and medication administration
  • Maintain continuity of care for complex patients, including drips, vents, and monitoring equipment, from sending facility to receiving
  • Operate the ambulance safely and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Complete accurate, timely ePCR documentation that holds up for clinical quality and medical necessity
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, facility staff, dispatch, and receiving providers
  • Lead the crew during patient care and mentor your EMT partner
  • Inspect, stock, and maintain unit readiness, equipment, and controlled substance accountability every shift
  • Share feedback on the platform so the tools keep getting better
Qualifications
Required
  • Current Texas DSHS certification or licensure as a Paramedic (EMT-P or LP)
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS (PALS preferred, or obtained within 90 days)
  • Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical / lift assessment
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
Nice to Have
  • National Registry (NREMT-P) certification
  • Critical care credentials such as CCEMT-P, FP-C, or CCP-C
  • Ventilator and IV pump transport experience
  • EVOC or equivalent emergency vehicle operations training
  • Prior interfacility or mobile healthcare experience
Physical Requirements

Lift, carry, push, and pull in excess of 100 lbs with assistance for stretcher operations. Bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces. Sit or stand for extended periods and work in variable weather and patient care environments.

Health, dental, and vision insurance. Flexible scheduling with day, night, and overnight shifts available.

Why Join Us

This is a crew-first operation. They invest in training, skills verification, and continuing education, and they promote from within the ranks rather than around them. The hospital systems they serve run high transport volumes and expect real clinical standards, so the work is steady and the bar is high.

You'll also be one of the people shaping the tools you use every day, which is not something most ambulance services can offer.
