This position is eligible for a $5000 Sign on Bonus!

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) you will support plasma center operations and report to the Plasma Center Manager. Your responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable results, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements. You will coordinate with the Center Physician, Medical Affairs, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to address medical and technical issues, support employee vaccination programs, manage employee incidents, and assist with pandemic coordination when authorized.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate and manage donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues affecting donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine the need for further evaluation by occupational health or ER, following EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator, if authorized by EHS, and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate‑equivalent recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Current EMT‑Paramedic license or certification in the state of assignment.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialists.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation & Benefits

• U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44
