Job summary

University of Kentucky is seeking a Paramedic/UKHC to perform ambulance and emergency department duties on the UK medical campus and in related facilities. The role includes interfacility transports, use of ventilators and IV pumps, and collaboration with ED nursing staff to care for patients.

Licensed Paramedic with a valid Driver’s License is required, along with BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications. The position offers full-time hours in Lexington, KY, with shift variability and occasional

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Three years of paramedic experience preferred.
Kentucky Paramedic certification/licensure required at time of hire.
Nationally Registered EMT (NREMT), American Heart Association (BLS), ACLS and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

Respond to emergency calls on the UK medical campus and in the surrounding area.
Conduct long- and short-distance interfacility transports and specialty transports.
Perform procedures with ventilators, IV pumps and other patient-care equipment.
Check equipment, perform ambulance maintenance and support daily operations.
Complement nursing staff in the emergency department, administer medications, chart and monitor patients.
