Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas seeks a Paramedic to join the Emergency Department care team. Working under the physician in the area, you will provide advanced life support, administer medications, perform patient evaluations, and assist nurses with bedside care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will operate with the ED team to monitor patients, perform phlebotomy, insert lines and catheters as directed, transport patients to radiology, keep a clean, stocked environment, and help ensure patient

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year of Paramedic experience in a 9-1-1 or hospital setting; three years preferred.
• Current EMT-Paramedic license in Texas; BLS/ACLS/PALS current.
• NRP must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Completely operate patient monitoring equipment and record rhythm strips and readings.
• Perform phlebotomy and insert saline lock, Foley, and NG tubes under physician direction.
• Assist in patient care, document vital signs, and maintain clear communications with patients and healthcare team.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment and manage supplies and equipment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in procedures as delegated and follow hospital policies.
• Transport patients to radiology and nursing units using appropriate equipment.
• Comply with the hospital’s job description and competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

High School Graduate or equivalent

Successfully passed paramedic exam

EMT-P Texas certification

BLS Certification

ACLS Certification

PALS Certification
