Job summary

Piedmont Fayette Hospital is seeking a Paramedic for the Emergency Department night shift (7p–7a). You will support patient care, educate families, and help maintain a safe environment for all ages. This full-time role collaborates with nurses and physicians to deliver timely, compassionate care in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements include a Georgia Paramedic certification, BLS, and 1 year of paramedic experience preferred. ALS/ACLS and PALS may be required with a 6-month completion window.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of Paramedic experience preferred.
  • Current Georgia Paramedic certification required; National Registry preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ALS/ACLS and PALS may be required, with 6 months to obtain if not current.

Responsibilities

  • Provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care to patients.
  • Maintain a safe environment and educate patients and families.
  • Assist in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
  • Advocate for patients and supervise unlicensed personnel when needed.

Responsibilities

The Paramedic, under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse and/or Physician is responsible for facilitating age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Paramedic participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of health care services and task. The role of the Paramedic Nurse Extender also, includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, and the oversight of unlicensed personnel.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 1 year of experience as a Paramedic preferred.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

  • Current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia required, National Registry preferred
  • BLS Certification required

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • If working in the Emergency Department, ALS/ACLS and PALS required (Paramedics new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
  • Experienced Emergency Department Paramedics will have 6 months to obtain the PALS certification.
