Job summary

Piedmont in Georgia seeks a Paramedic to support the care team under supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician. You will facilitate safe, culturally sensitive care, educate patients and families, collect information, and communicate effectively using available technology.

The position requires 1 year of Paramedic experience (preferred), Georgia Paramedic licensure with BLS, and may include opportunities for professional growth within a leading healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum experience: 1 year as Paramedic preferred.
• Current Georgia Paramedic license required; National Registry preferred; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care and maintain a safe patient environment.
• Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of health care delivery.
• Engage in patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement and oversight of unlicensed personnel.

Responsibilities

The Paramedic, under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse and/or Physician is responsible for facilitating age‑appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The Paramedic participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of health care services and tasks. The role of the Paramedic Nurse Extender also includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, and the oversight of unlicensed personnel.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1 year of experience as a Paramedic preferred.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Georgia required, National Registry preferred. BLS Certification required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• If working in the Emergency Department, ALS/ACLS and PALS required.
• (Paramedics new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
• Experienced Emergency Department Paramedics will have 6 months to obtain the PALS certification.
