Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a Clinical Instructor for the UCLA Center for Prehospital Care. The role involves hands-on teaching of clinical skills and equipment to paramedic students, evaluating performance, and contributing to curriculum development.

A minimum of two instructional shifts per month is required, with 25% per diem scheduling. The position requires CA paramedic or RN licensure (or eligibility), BLS, CPR, ACLS/PALS instructor credentials preferred, and strong communication and teamwork

Qualifications

AHS BLS Provider.
Current CA licensure as a Paramedic or RN or eligible to obtain licensure in CA.
Minimum 1 year of EMS field or clinical experience.
Teaching experience is preferred.
AHA CPR provider certification; ACLS and/or PALS instructor certifications preferred.
NAEMT PHTLS instructor certifications preferred.
Available to work at least 2 weekdays per month.
Excellent communication skills; able to work independently and in a team.
May perform venipuncture on training equipment; occasional heavy lifting.
Willing to meet scheduling requirements including evenings, holidays, weekends.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on clinical skills instruction for UCLA Paramedic Education Program.
Demonstrate and teach clinical skills and equipment use; evaluate student performance.
Foster an engaging learning environment and ensure course objectives are met.
Support curriculum development and learner assessment.
Work a minimum of two instructional shifts per month.
