Job summary

UNC Nash Specialty Care Transport is seeking a qualified EMT-Paramedic for per diem ground transport. You will provide safe, timely patient transfer with basic and advanced life support, under the supervision of the ED Shift Supervisor, and in coordination with RN staff and physicians.

You must have EMT-P certification with NC EMS, current BCLS/ACLS/CPI/ASLS/NIHSS, a valid NC driver’s license and at least two years of EMT-P experience in pre-hospital or transport settings.

Qualifications

• EMT-P certification current with NC Office of EMS.
• BCLS, ACLS, CPI, ASLS, NIHSS certifications or recertifications required.
• Two years experience as an EMT-P in pre-hospital/transport setting.
• Valid NC driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient condition during ground transport to provide stabilization.
• Perform interventions during transport per UNC Nash Specialty Care Protocols under NC EMS guidance.
• Communicate with dispatch, medical staff, family and other stakeholders; collect information and provide treatment information.
• Document patient status, care delivery and response to care per unit procedures.
• Consult physicians for guidance and follow treatment protocols as directed.
