Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Paramedic for the Mission Cancer & Blood unit in Des Moines, IA. You will assist with patient care under supervision, handle airway management, pharmacological interventions, and lab duties as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required certifications include Iowa Paramedic, BLS, and ACLS. Desirable phlebotomy experience. This is a part-time position with benefits and growth opportunities within UI Health Care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Current paramedic certification by the Iowa Department of Public Health, Bureau of EMS.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification (American Heart Association).
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist registered nurses and/or LIP in patient care and monitor patient condition.
• Provide care per Paramedic Scope of Practice including airway, breathing, circulation tasks.
• Perform lab-related duties, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing as required.
• Communicate changes in patient condition and support clerical tasks as needed.
