Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center is seeking a Communication Specialist/Paramedic to operate the Charleston MEDBASE Communications Center at Northgate-400 Association Dr. You will coordinate medical command for region 3/4, dispatch Health Net Aeromedical, and arrange patient transport into and out of CAMC.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 3 years of paramedic or equivalent experience, and proven ability to communicate clearly with EMS, hospitals, and medical staff in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years paramedic experience or 5-7 years medical command.
• Experience in a communication or call center is preferred.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate with EMS, hospitals and medical staff in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate the MEDBASE Communications Center.
• Establish verbal communications and relay to patient care representatives.
• Maintain communications standards per medical transmission protocol and FCC regulations.
• Receive and relay requests for aeromedical transport and arrange landing zones.
• Coordinate EMS Region III/IV medical protocols and ambulance transportation.
