Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Paramedic (EMT-P) to provide initial medical contact in the ED triage area, maintain safety, and deliver compassionate care. Must hold Florida EMT-P licensure and current BLS/ACLS; PALS within 6 months and PHTLS preferred.

Responsibilities include basic airway management, spinal stabilization, IV access, and transport per code blue requests under ED supervision. Exemption status: Nonexempt. Schedule: Full Time, nights with 60 hours per pay period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Florida EMT-P licensure/certification required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required. PALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current PHTLS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial medical contact in the triage area of the Emergency Department, maintain a safe environment, and offer compassionate care.
• Collect blood samples and/or obtain IV access as requested by the triage RN or ED team leader.
• Provide initial medical services including basic airway management and spinal stabilization; transport to ill or injured persons when requested via code 250 or code blue under ED Director supervision.
