Qualifications

• Must have US citizenship or right to work in the US
• High school diploma or GED; bachelor/associate in Fire Science/EMS preferred
• Current MI Paramedic License or National Registry Paramedic; eligible to be licensed in MI or within 2 months of graduation
• Visual acuity 20/20 with glasses
• Free from medical/mental conditions that impair duties
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record
• CPAT or equivalent agility test within 12 months
• Not currently possessing NFPA 1001 or 1010 Firefighter I & II certification in MI or reciprocity

Responsibilities

• Attend Fire Academy training and become BFS Firefighter II certified within one year
• Respond to emergencies and provide direct patient care per SOPs
• Operate extinguishing equipment and rescue operations as directed
• Maintain physical fitness and perform routine housekeeping tasks at the station
• Prepare reports on maintenance, inspections, and use of equipment
• Participate in quality assurance and post-incident debriefings
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and department policies
• Perform additional duties as assigned
