Job summary

AMR Bridgeport is hiring Paramedics for full-time and part-time roles with competitive hourly pay and benefits. The position offers paid, hospital-led training to become a Blood Paramedic and access to advanced capabilities not widely available in the state.

Full-time and part-time shifts include overnight and weekend differential, with options for 8- or 10-hour shifts. A strong emphasis on patient care, leadership, and community engagement is highlighted throughout the role.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid State Paramedic License and current certifications (BLS/ACLS/NREMT-Paramedic).
• High school diploma or GED required; driver’s license in good standing.
• Candidate should demonstrate physical agility and a healthcare background.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine best action following paramedic protocols.
• Utilize paramedic skills with defibrillator, ECG monitor, oxygen, suction, IV fluids.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide care information and reassurance.
• Serve as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Collaborate with healthcare and public safety teams professionally.
• Engage in community programs to promote AMR image.

• Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
