Job summary

AMR is hiring Paramedics in Buena Park, CA to provide high-quality emergency medical care and patient transfer services. You will deliver basic and advanced medical interventions using defibrillators, monitors, oxygen, suction and IV therapy while coordinating with a dynamic team on scene.

The role requires a California Paramedic license, cardiopulmonary certifications (CPR, ACLS, PALS/PEPP), a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

  • Education/licensing/certification required as listed.
  • California Paramedic license and ALS/BLS certifications required.
  • Ambulance driving authorization and safe driving record required.
  • CPR/ACLS/PALS (or PEPP) certifications required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess each call to determine best action with advanced Paramedic protocols.
  • Use medical equipment (defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction) for advanced care.
  • Communicate clearly with patients and families about care being provided.
  • Lead Paramedic team and manage scene and unit as needed.
  • Drive ambulance on 911 responses.
  • Collaborate professionally with public safety and allied health personnel.

Paramedic (Full- Time)

POSITION SUMMARY:


We’re hiring Paramedics that are passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality service and basic, as well as advanced, patient care to our customers.


Responsibilities:


  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.

  • Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.

  • Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.

  • Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.

  • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.

  • Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.


Minimum Required Qualifications:


  • Education/Licensing/Certification:

    • High school diploma or equivalent (GED

    • Ca Drivers’ License

    • Ambulance Driver’s License (from DMV)

    • Medical Examiner’s Card

    • State of California Paramedic License

    • CPR Card (AHA ONLY, Health Care Provider. Hand written cards are not acceptable)

    • ACLS Card (AHA ONLY, hand written cards are not acceptable)

    • PALS Card (AHA ONLY, hand written cards are not acceptable) or PEPP

    • Driving record in compliance with McCormick/AMR Safety and Driving policy (proof required if conditional employment is made)

    • ICS courses

    • IS-100B (ICS 100)

    • IS-200B (ICS 200)

    • IS-700A (NIMS)

    • IS-800B (NIMS)

Salary Range: $22.39 - $24.98 DOE (This rate applies to a 12 and 24 hour shift.)
