Position: ALS Technical Partner (Paramedic) - Emergency Department - Flex Per Diem

Location: LVH - Macungie Neighborhood Hospital - 18-bed Small-Format Hospital (8 ER, 10 Inpatient)

Summary

The ALS Technical Partner is a paramedic responsible for assisting in providing quality care directly and indirectly to patients throughout their treatment in the Emergency Department. The role involves working cooperatively with the treatment team (providers, nurses, ancillary staff) to deliver professional care, adhering to policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort. The ALS Technical Partner works under the supervision of Emergency Department providers or nurses.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Ability to assess needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families
• Proficiency in documenting and communicating information using computer and paper tools
• Age-specific competencies in caring for neonates, infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions
• Ability to apply advanced knowledge and training to develop and execute care plans and intervene rapidly in life-saving procedures
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Pennsylvania
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - Pennsylvania
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - Pennsylvania
• PA EMT-P Paramedic - Pennsylvania (upon hire)
• NREMT-Paramedic - Pennsylvania (upon hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree
• PHTLS - Prehospital Trauma Life Support - Pennsylvania
• NREMT-Paramedic - Pennsylvania

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs., including pushing/pulling patients on beds or stretchers, lateral transfers. Frequent standing and walking; may walk 8-10 miles per shift. Activities may include kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
