Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks EMS professionals to provide emergency medical care in the prehospital environment, communicating with all departments involved in emergency medical care. You will drive a responding vehicle and determine the nature of illness or injury, delivering both basic and advanced life support during treatment and transport.

Responsibilities include accurate documentation, equipment maintenance, and medication accountability on every EMS unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent education and/or training.
• 5 years’ relevant experience for the Prehospital Response Unit.
• Medical Command eligibility required.
• PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to practice in PA at the Paramedic level or licensed PHRN.
• ACLS, PALS, ITLS/PHTLS and CPR certifications within defined hire windows.

Responsibilities

• Drives emergency or response vehicle (20%).
• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provides basic and advanced life support during treatment and transport (50%).
• Completes required documentation per regulatory standards (15%).
• Maintains equipment and inventory of BLS and ALS and medication accountability on every EMS unit (15%).
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
