RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Paramedic for the Mobile Health unit in Toms River, NJ. The role provides Advanced Life Support services to patients with a focus on timely, compassionate care and strict adherence to EMS protocols.

Responsibilities include professional interaction with patients and staff, proper documentation, vehicle operation under NJ regulations, and ongoing participation in required trainings.

Qualifications

• Must possess valid driver’s license and meet insurance requirements
• NJ Paramedic Certification or NRP (reciprocity eligible)
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Hazmat awareness certification and CBRNE training preferred
• ICSS 100/200 and NIMS 700/800 training required
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to operate EMS vehicles in accordance with NJ laws and MH policies
• Must meet hospital health requirements (TB, fit testing)

Responsibilities

• Provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) services to patients
• Maintain professional conduct and compassionate patient interactions
• Report equipment, maintenance, and supply issues to Supervisor
• Follow established patient care protocols and documentation procedures
• Operate department vehicles per NJ laws and MH policies
• Complete required continuing education and hospital trainings
• Engage with partners, patients, management, and other EMS providers
• Complete vehicle inspections and maintain certifications on schedule

• Status: Full-Time
• Pay Range: $38.03 - $46.62 per hour
• Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

Position Summary

The Paramedic will provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) services to patients.

Responsibilities

• Conducts self in a professional, dignified, and compassionate manner at all times
• Capable of communicating clearly, effectively, and professionally in the English language via written and verbal means
• Notifies Supervisor of any deficiencies regarding maintenance, equipment, or supplies
• Notifies Supervisor immediately of any unusual circumstances
• Provides treatment in accordance with established patient care protocols
• Operates department vehicles in accordance with all applicable NJ Motor Vehicle Laws and MH driving related policies
• Required to complete department specific continuing programs in addition to those required by the State of New Jersey Department of Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services
• Expected to complete all patient care documentation in accordance with the MH Documentation Procedure
• Interacts professionally with partners, patients, management, colleagues from other EMS agencies, public safety personnel, and other healthcare providers and members of the public
• Expected to perform routine duties intended to keep them safe and facilitate their ability to provide patient care such as completing vehicle inspection forms and vehicle maintenance requests, submitting copies of required certifications prior to their due date, remaining compliant with hospital Employee Health requirements such as TB testing and N95 fit testing, and completing hospital-required processes such as annual employee self‑evaluations and employee engagement surveys in a timely manner.

Qualifications (Required)

• High School Graduate or GED
• Must be 18 years of age
• Current Driver’s License and must satisfy the current vehicle insurance company’s requirements
• NJ Paramedic Certification or National Registry Paramedic Certification (eligible for reciprocity)
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider (CPR)
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
• AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• Hazmat Awareness Certification
• Must possess ICSS 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800
• Must have completed Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training

Qualifications (Preferred)

• PHTLS/ITLS experience
• Associate Degree
