Responsibilities

• Respond to all calls for service dispatched from the Central EMS communications center as directed.
• Provide medical care at sporting events and concerts.
• Offer care and treatment to patients according to company policy and the medical director protocols.
• Ensure ambulance and all equipment are cleaned and checked daily; report deficiencies immediately to the shift supervisor or Operations Manager.
• Prepare and complete appropriate reports, including Patient Care Reports (PCR), billing, exposure reports, incident reports, and daily, weekly, and monthly unit check‑offs.
• Ensure unit and crew members adhere to Central EMS policies, procedures, guidelines, directives, and standards; report any deficiencies to the shift supervisor or Operations Manager.
• Ensure the vehicle placed in service complies with required laws, rules, licenses, and regulations as outlined by the State of Georgia and other authorized agencies.
• Attend work and mandatory meetings punctually.
• Maintain readiness and professionalism while on‑duty.
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct while in company uniform, both on and off duty.
• Operate with minimal supervision and direction.
• Perform other duties as required.

Summary

The Paramedic provides patient care in both the emergency and non‑emergency environment. A State of Georgia Driver’s License is required, and mandatory training beyond EMT‑P courses must be attended. Employees follow company policies and procedures, including those approved by the medical director. New hires are subject to a six‑month introductory probationary period.

Working Environment

Due to the nature of EMS care, employees may be exposed to inclement weather, hazardous conditions, psychological stressors, diseases and other illnesses. Frequent interruptions, work pressure, difficult personalities, and irregular work schedules are expected. The employee will be subject to changing deadlines while performing job duties and may be required to attend meetings outside of regular hours. Periods without sleep, food, or breaks may occur depending on call load.
