Job summary

Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, IA is seeking Paramedics to deliver high-quality out-of-hospital emergency care under medical direction. This PRN/as-needed role supports our Ambulance Services Department and patient care across the Iowa Great Lakes region.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; Iowa Paramedic certification (National Registry) and ongoing BLS, ACLS, PALS, AMLS, PHTLS, and Hazardous Response training. One year of Iowa Paramedic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One-year experience as an Iowa Paramedic preferred.
• Iowa Paramedic (National Registry Paramedic) certification required per position.
• Must obtain or maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, AMLS, PHTLS, and Hazardous Response certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides out-of-hospital care per established protocols, under direction of the medical director, appropriate to the age of each patient.
• Assists patient care and clinical service departments as priorities allow.
• Assists in educational activities of the Ambulance Services Department.

Current certification in Mandatory Reporting of Child and Dependent Adult Abuse or willingness to obtain in accordance with Education Policy. Must be willing to acquire additional certifications as required by the department.
