Job summary

Assist Ambulance in Brooklyn is seeking certified Paramedics to join our EMS team on a full-time or part-time basis. Candidates must hold an active NYS EMT-P, have a clean NYS D Class driver’s license, and be able to pass required clearances and screenings.

Experience is welcome but not required if fully certified at application time. We offer a steady schedule with two 12-hour shifts per week, paid training, and health insurance eligibility after 90 days.

Qualifications

• EMT-P and NYC REMAC required; NREMT alone not accepted.
• Must be at least 20 years old with 1 year NYC driving experience.
• Valid NYS D Class driver's license; DJ licenses not accepted.
• Physically fit to lift 125 lbs; lifting assessment required.
• Must obtain 19A clearance and negative PPD.
• Must pass a 10-panel drug screen.
• Commit to at least two 12-hour shifts per week (steady schedule).
• Per diem not available; full-time or part-time steady scheduling only.
• Good with people and able to work under extreme duress.
• Criminal history considered under NYC Fair Chance Act.

Assist Ambulance is looking for new and experienced Paramedics to join us full-time and part-time at our Brooklyn base! Assist is a New York City EMS agency offering a full range of emergency medical and transportation services throughout the five boroughs. Assist has a proud 30 year history of providing these services to the diverse and vibrant communities of NYC. Assist Ambulance offers Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support via emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports for various hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, doctor's offices, and community-based organizations.

Job Requirements:

• Must have an active NY State EMT-P card and NYC REMAC - NREMT card is not accepted alone
  • Paramedics without any experience are welcome to apply as long as they are fully certified at time of application
• Must be at least 20 years old with 1 years driving experience in New York City

• Must have a valid, clean NYS D Class driver’s license
  • DJ licenses are not accepted

• Must be physically fit to lift 125 lbs. in accordance with the NYS DOH and pass a lifting assessment
• Must be able to get 19A physical clearance and negative PPD test (vouchers provided)
• Must be able to pass a 10 panel drug screening
• Must be able to commit to at least two 12-hour shifts per week that are the same days every week (steady shifts)
• Per diem is not available at this time, only part time or full time steady scheduling
• Must be good with people and able to act responsibly under extreme duress
