Job summary

Emergent Health Partners is seeking a qualified paramedic to join its Monroe County EMS team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality emergency and non-emergency transport under hospital-approved protocols.

Responsibilities include advanced and basic life support, patient transport, and maintaining compassionate, professional care. Positions involve 12- or 24-hour shifts with opportunities in critical care and specialty teams.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a State of Michigan paramedic license.
  • ACLS, CPR, and PHTLS or ITLS certification (PHTLS can be provided upon hire).
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a company-sponsored background check, drug screen, and physical.
  • Must be capable of lifting and moving patients and equipment.
  • Ability to work professionally and cooperatively with a diverse range of people.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high clinical standards in all aspects of care.
  • Safely drive and operate ambulances.
  • Provide basic life support, including CPR, airway, suction, oxygen, bleeding control, and splinting.
  • Provide advanced life support, including ACLS, airway management, medication and IV administration.
  • Provide convalescent care, transporting patients to and from medical facilities.
  • Proficiently handle patients: stretcher operations, lifting, loading.
  • Treat patients with compassion and respect.
  • Interact professionally with patients, families, facility staff, and coworkers.

Requirements
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid State of Michigan paramedic license
  • ACLS, CPR, and PHTLS or ITLS certified (PHTLS can be provided upon hire)
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Physically capable of meeting job requirements: lifting and moving patients, carrying medical equipment
  • Ability to pass a company-sponsored background check, drug screen, and physical
  • Ability to work professionally and cooperatively with a diverse range of people
Job Duties
  • Maintain high clinical standards in all aspects of care.
  • Safely drive and operate ambulances.
  • Provide basic life support, including CPR, airway, suction, oxygen application, bleeding control, splinting, bandaging, etc.
  • Provide advanced life support, including ACLS, airway management, medication administration, IV administration, etc.
  • Provide convalescent care, including transporting sick, injured, and convalescent patients to and from medical facilities.
  • Proficiently and safely perform patient handling, including stretcher operations, lifting, and loading.
  • Treat patients with compassion and respect.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with patients, family members, facility staff, and co-workers.

Headquartered in Monroe, MCA provides EMS to Monroe County. Our paramedics typically work 12 or 24-hour shifts and provide both emergent and non-emergent transport, delivering patient care under hospital-approved medical protocols. Additional opportunities for paramedics include training in critical care transport and community paramedicine. MCA also has opportunities within their specialty teams including HazMat medical response, technical rescue, honor guard, tactical EMS, and bicycle medic teams.
