Responsibilities

Responds to calls for emergency medical services and provides patient care as directed and/or determined necessary.
Reports to: Prehospital Operations Manager
FLSA: Non-exempt

Job Summary

Provides high quality pre-hospital advanced life support as a paramedic representing Conemaugh Health System while assisting EMS providers in the field via ground-based response. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the treatment outcome of patients of all ages including the neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric populations as defined by the paramedic scope of practice through Department of Health Guidelines.

Provides pre-hospital advanced life support care from the initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility; maintains thorough patient care documentation

Maintains competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing continuing education and clinical experiences
Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies to assure readiness and immediate response to assist providers by ground
Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, physicians and the public
Participates in patient and referring institution follow up
Participates in planned outreach, marketing and education activities
Maintains awareness of current issues related to pre-hospital care

Maintains and completes all required licensure, certifications, continuing education, state and departmental requirements
