Job summary

AdventHealth in Celebration, FL is seeking an experienced paramedic for night shifts in a high-demand ED setting. The role includes assisting with procedures, transporting patients, rounding, and ensuring patient comfort and safety while adhering to regulatory standards.

Required: Paramedic license (PARA), BLS; 1+ year ED or pre-hospital experience preferred. Sign-on bonus available and comprehensive benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred for the role.
• Licensed Paramedic (PARA) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• 1+ emergency department or pre-hospital paramedic experience preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians or nurses with procedures and exams, including setup and cleanup for sutures, pelvic exams, lumbar punctures, and casting.
• Transport unmonitored patients to inpatient departments and monitor patients to PCU/med-tele.
• Perform hourly rounding and ensure patients have call bells, pillows, blankets; maintain caregiver boards.
• Observe and document infusion site conditions and remove IV lines as directed.
• Demonstrate clinical competence and stay compliant with regulatory requirements.

Job Description

Sign on Bonus: $5,000 Shift: Nights 7p-7a Applies slings, sling-n-swathe, orthopedic splints, and dressings with proper competencies. Transports unmonitored patients to inpatient departments and stables monitored patients to PCU/med-tele, or accompanies registered nurse to transport patients to specialty units. Assists physician or registered nurse with procedures and exams, including setup and cleanup for sutures, pelvic exams, lumbar punctures, and application of orthopedic splints and casting. Performs hourly rounding on patients to keep them informed, ensures they have call bells, pillows, blankets as needed, and that caregiver names are on the boards. Observes and documents the condition of infusion sites and removes IV lines as directed by registered nurse.
