Job summary

Premise Health in Athens, TN seeks a Part Time Paramedic to provide on-site care for client employees at our Health Center in Athens. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Requires an associate degree or Paramedic training, current state Paramedic Certification, ACLS, and at least three years EMT-P experience. We offer a part-time schedule with 401(k) match, holidays and vacation time, wellness program, EAP, telehealth and dependent coverage.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from a Paramedic training program.
• Current Paramedic Certification as defined by the state of work.
• Current ACLS certification.
• At least three years’ EMT-P experience with an ambulance/EMS service.

Responsibilities

• Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
• Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and records vital signs.
• Initiates intravenous fluids for hydration and to administer medication.
• Administers medications and drugs per protocols and lifesaving measures.
• Communicates with physician and other medical personnel in person and by radio/telephone.
• Keeps current on treatment techniques, protocol changes, materials, and equipment.
• Prepares required reports and maintains activity records.
• Cleans emergency vehicle and restocks supplies and equipment.
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accuracy.

What You’ll Do

• Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance
• Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and takes and records patient's vital signs
• Initiates intravenous fluids for hydration and to administer medication
• Administers medications and drugs as appropriate for protocols and lifesaving measures
• Communicates with physician and other medical personnel in person and by radio‑telephone
• Keeps current on treatment techniques, protocol changes, material, and equipment
• Prepares required reports and maintains records of activities
• Cleans assigned emergency vehicle, conducts safety inspections, requisitions and restocks supplies, material, and equipment
• Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from an accredited Paramedic training program
• Current Paramedic Certification as defined within the state in which work will be performed
• Current ACLS certification
• At least three years’ experience as an EMT-P with an ambulance/EMS service
