Pitt Community College seeks an Instructor for Paralegal Technologies to deliver high-quality instruction across modalities and support accreditation efforts.

The role requires a JD and active law license, plus 3–5 years in law or teaching with paralegal supervision. Instructors will integrate e-filing, case mgmt, e-discovery, and AI tools into coursework and advise students on careers.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited institution with an active law license in any state.
• 3–5 years’ experience practicing law and/or teaching with 1+ year supervising paralegals.
• Alternatively 3–5 years’ experience plus 1+ year as a paralegal.

Responsibilities

• Teach paralegal/legal studies courses in multiple modalities (day/evening/online).
• Develop syllabi, lesson plans, objectives, and assessments.
• Maintain academic records and reports (attendance, grades, term docs).
• Integrate current legal tech (e-filing, case mgmt, AI tools) into instruction.
• Advise students on planning, registrations, career pathways, and placements.
