A Washington, DC law firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal Supervisor to lead and develop its Legal Analyst team while providing hands-on senior-level paralegal support.

This newly created role will oversee staffing, workload management, performance, recruitment, training, and professional development, and will partner with attorneys, Human Resources, and firm leadership to ensure effective support across client matters.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of paralegal or related legal experience.
  • 2+ years in leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Hands-on paralegal support for attorneys and complex matters.
  • Strong legal research, case management, and document review skills.
  • Experience with LexisNexis and other legal research tools.
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery procedures and workflows.
  • Know-how of cite-checking, Bluebook, and electronic filing.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations, staffing, workload distribution, and utilization for the Legal Analyst team.
  • Serve as the primary contact for assignments, staffing requests, and workload management.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor Legal Analysts, including performance feedback and evaluations.
  • Lead recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, orientation, and training for the Legal Analyst program.
  • Coordinate professional development and team-building initiatives.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, policies, attendance, leave, overtime, time entry, and other personnel matters.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and leadership to ensure appropriate staffing for client matters and complex projects.
  • Provide senior-level project management and substantive, billable paralegal support.
  • Assist with legal research, document review, case management, cite-checking, court filings, and eDiscovery.
  • Support firmwide administrative and operational initiatives as needed.

Requirements
  • 7+ years of paralegal or related legal experience, including 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Current hands‑on paralegal experience supporting attorneys and complex matters.
  • Strong legal research, case management, and document review skills.
  • Experience with LexisNexis and other legal research tools.
  • Knowledge of eDiscovery procedures, platforms, and workflows.
  • Experience with cite‑checking, Shepardizing, and Bluebook citation review.
  • Knowledge of federal and state court procedures and electronic filing, including PACER and ECF.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, mentoring, and project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced professional environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, discretion, and confidentiality.
