Job summary

The United States Attorneys' Offices in Las Vegas seeks a Paralegal Specialist to support Assistant U.S. Attorneys in public corruption investigations and prosecutions through rigorous legal research and drafting of pleadings.

You will organize complex case materials, maintain case databases, and assist with trial readiness, including subpoenas, exhibits, and jury instructions, in a federal environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• One full year of specialized paralegal or legal work demonstrating knowledge of law and litigation processes.
• Education options include Ph.D. or 3 years of graduate education or LL.M. within related fields.
• Combinations of education and experience may meet qualification requirements with graduate education in excess of 2 full years.

Responsibilities

• Performs substantive legal research using a variety of research tools.
• Prepares draft legal and administrative pleadings and various other correspondence and legal documents.
• Review and organize complex factual material and other documentary data.
• Provide advice on the most efficient method for preparing legal documents.
• Prepare a variety of substantive legal documents including extradition requests, grand jury and trial subpoenas, and related documentation.
• Develop and enter case material into computer databases.
• Prepare charts, graphs, and tables to illustrate results.
• Prepare, develop, compile, or maintain jury instructions for trial.
• Prepare exhibits for trial, often involving diverse visual materials.
• Provide litigation case management and organize cases for court presentation.
