Job summary

Marshall & Taylor PLLC in Wilmington, NC is seeking a detail-oriented paralegal to support attorneys by preparing legal documents, filing motions, coordinating office workflow, and conducting legal research.

You will perform administrative duties, organize case files, assist with trial preparation, draft pleadings and correspondence, coordinate with clients and witnesses, and help ensure timely, accurate delivery of case materials.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• ABA-approved paralegal certificate program; Associate’s degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree desired.
• Talented communicator and writer.
• Paralegal certification or advanced paralegal education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized.
• Help lawyers prepare for trial by organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, researching legal articles, and coordinating witnesses.
• Assist lawyers in preparing legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence including subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, briefs, and affidavits.
• Coordinate law office activity, including drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers.
• Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues.
