Job summary

The City of Springfield Attorney's Office is seeking a Paralegal to join the Prosecutor's Office. The role supports preparing, reviewing and summarizing legal documents and contracts, and performing legal research on complex issues.

Candidates should have at least two years of paralegal experience or a Bachelor's degree with relevant coursework; must type 50 WPM and possess a valid driver's license; pre-interview typing test may be required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Legal Studies with at least 12 hours of legal coursework.
• Bachelor's degree with listed course work in related field.
• At least two years of paralegal experience or equivalent litigation exposure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, reviewing and summarizing legal documents and contracts.
• Conduct legal research involving advanced and complex issues.
• Assist in the preparation of cases for nonjury and jury trials and hearings.
• Work autonomously in a litigation support role and collaborate with the Prosecutor's Office.
