Job summary

BHCC is seeking a Chair and Program Director for its ABA-approved Paralegal Programs, responsible for teaching, program oversight, maintaining ABA accreditation, student recruitment, advising, and supporting the continued growth and development of the Paralegal Programs.

The position requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and license to practice in Massachusetts, with oversight of curriculum, internships, and career placement in collaboration with Career Services.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Experience teaching Paralegal Studies at a college level.
• Familiarity with ABA accreditation processes and program oversight.
• Ability to advise, recruit students, and support career placement in Paralegal Programs.
• Multilingual skills are a plus, including reading, speaking, and writing in Spanish or another language.

Responsibilities

• Provides academic leadership and administrative oversight for Paralegal faculty and students.
• Advises students and leads recruitment and outreach efforts to increase enrollment and strengthen the Programs.
• Teaches using varied, outcomes-based methods that promote critical thinking and integrate technology. Manages ABA accreditation, supports curriculum development, and engages in professional development.
• Participates in advisory board activities and supports internships and career placement efforts in coordination with Career Services.
• Complies with all duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.
