Job summary

Bunker Hill Community College in Boston seeks a full-time Tenure Track Faculty member to chair and direct its ABA-approved Paralegal Programs. The Chair/Program Director will teach, oversee programs, maintain ABA accreditation, recruit students, advise, and support growth of the Paralegal Programs.

Requirements include a J.D. and license in good standing to practice law in Massachusetts; teaching experience and multilingual skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and license in good standing to practice law in Massachusetts required.
• Experience with active and experiential learning preferred.
• Experience using educational technology or other electronic resources in teaching preferred.
• Ability to support a diverse student population from a variety of cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• College-level teaching experience in Paralegal Studies required; community college teaching experience preferred.
• Multilingual skills are a plus, including ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or another language.

• Participates in advisory board activities and supports internships and career placement efforts in coordination with Career Services.
• Complies with all duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty Requirements:
BHCC seeks full-time faculty committed to teaching, student success, and innovation. Candidates should have experience with diverse adult learners, assessing learning outcomes, and using technology. The College values faculty who engage in advising and campus life and who are flexible in teaching across locations and in both in-person and online formats.

Position Description:
BHCC is seeking a Chair and Program Director for its two American Bar Association (ABA)-approved programs: the Paralegal Studies A.S. Degree and the Paralegal Certificate Program. The Chair and Program Director is responsible for teaching, program oversight, maintaining ABA accreditation, student recruitment, advising, and supporting the continued growth and development of the Paralegal Programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• College-level teaching experience in Paralegal Studies required; community college teaching experience preferred.

Additional Information:

Salary: $70,786 - $76,264. (Actual Salary Will Be Commensurate with Education and Experience in Accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.)
