Fennemore in Oakland, California, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for a full-time hybrid role supporting complex commercial matters. • Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Knowledge of civil litigation rules and court filings.
• Proficiency with Relativity, DISCO, or EverLaw.
• Strong organization and ability to manage multiple projects to completion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with complex commercial litigation matters.
• Collect, organize, and manage case evidence and materials, including electronic databases.
• Review, code, organize, and prepare document productions.
• Draft pleadings, court papers, and discovery documents.
• Maintain key document collections and witness materials.
• Research court procedures and related materials for cases.
• Provide trial preparation support.
• Communicate with clients, experts, and other parties.
• Handle electronic court filing (state and federal).

Fennemore has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our OAKLAND, California office. This full-time, hybrid role offers the chance to work on complex commercial litigation cases. The ideal candidate will support attorneys with case management, discovery, pleadings, legal research, trial preparation, and client communications. This is a great opportunity to be part of a collaborative team handling high-level litigation matters.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting attorneys with complex commercial litigation matters.
• Collection, organization of, and management of case evidence and other materials, including electronic databases.
• Reviewing, coding, organizing, and preparing document productions.
• Drafting pleadings, other court papers, and discovery documents for attorney use.
• Collection and maintenance of key document collections and witness material.;
• Research court procedures, materials in related cases, and other investigation materials regarding cases, witnesses, and experts.
• Trial preparation and support.
• Communicating with clients, experts, and other third parties.
• Electronic court filing (state and federal), preparation of materials for same.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or combination of experience and education as defined by California Business and Professions Code §6450.
• Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience with a strong trial and eDiscovery background in a law firm or in-house environment.
• Knowledge of civil litigation rules and procedures, including those regarding court filings.
• Must have basic knowledge of eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity, DISCO, or EverLaw.
• Superior organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several projects to completion on a deadline.
• Conscientious, thoughtful, and proactive approach to tasks and workload management, including establishing priorities, working independently, and taking initiative when appropriate.
• Proficiency in the standard collection of Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interface with all levels within the firm and externally with clients and other professional advisors, as needed.
