Job summary

Bowman and Brooke LLP in Troy, MI is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our team. Paralegals support case teams by preparing documents, coordinating with attorneys, and managing discovery and trial preparation.

Ideal candidates have at least four years of litigation defense experience, a bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate, and are comfortable with travel nationwide while adhering to client billing guidelines. We offer a hybrid work environment and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, edit and proofread a variety of documents (correspondence, agreements, and pleadings).
• Work with attorneys to keep litigation advancing in each case and regularly update team members.
• Assist attorneys with discovery, including requests, depositions, and subpoenas.
• Assist with document review and analysis through various platforms.
• Manage electronic case files using a document management system (iManage).
• Prepare for trial, coordinating witnesses and managing exhibits.
• Gather and analyze complex medical records for chronologies.

To meet client demands, we continue to expand our team of professionals. That’s where you come in! We are actively searching for aLitigation Paralegalto join our Troy, MI office. Our paralegals play a vital role on our case teams and are respected for their ideas and contributions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, edit and proofread a variety of documents (correspondence, agreements, and pleadings).
• Work with attorneys to keep litigation advancing in each case; including taking the initiative to regularly update team members on the status of cases and quickly alerting attorneys to important client and case needs.
• Assist attorneys with discovery, including discovery requests, depositions, and issuing subpoenas.
• Assist with document review and analysis through various platforms.
• Manage electronic case files using a document management system (iManage) to ensure information is organized and easy to locate.
• Prepare for trial (including compiling trial materials, coordinating witnesses, preparing, and issuing trial subpoenas, preparing and managing exhibits, attending trial).
• Gather and analyze complex medical records needed to prepare medical chronologies.

Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s Degree, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 4+ years’ litigation defense experiencerequired.
