PARALEGAL/LEGAL ASSISTANT – SMALL ESTATE PLANNING LAW FIRM
OVERVIEW: We are a small, but established, business and estate planning law firm located in Downtown St. Paul in the beautiful 1st Bank Building. As a firm, we are passionate about helping our clients with their estate planning needs. We are seeking an energetic and versatile paralegal to assist with drafting documents and conducting legal research, with an emphasis on probate and trust administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Drafting legal documents such as Living Trust, POA, Advanced Care Directives, Pour-Over Will, Certification of Trust, Community and Separate Property Agreement, etc.
· Real estate document preparation and deed filings.
· Preparing and filing documents with courts as needed.
· Organizing and archiving documents related to completed and ongoing cases.
· Support attorneys with their legal needs. Follow up with or answer questions for clients in the absence of the attorney – by phone, in-person, or email.
· Perform basic administrative tasks such as copying, filing, scanning, and mailing.
· Manage paper and electronic files.
· Back up staff team members when they are busy or have a day off.
· Work with various computer programs, databases, and systems.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS NEEDED:
· Ideally, you are certified as a Paralegal and have experience with estate planning, but if you don’t, we are willing to train the right service oriented individual who has a great attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to roll up your sleeves.
· Ability to work in the office Monday through Friday (with flexibility provided due to family or personal matters).
· Strong interpersonal/communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with other staff, attorneys, and clients.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent written communication skills and grammar.
