Schenk, Boncher & Rypma, a West Michigan law firm located on the west side of Grand Rapids, is seeking an experienced full time Legal Administrative Assistant for an immediate opening. Responsibilities :
*Provide assistance during the litigation process including document filing, trial prep and presentation of exhibits.
*Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices.
*Calendaring and coordinating meetings, appointments, deadlines, tasks, and conference calls.
*Preparing new client intake materials; opening new client matters; billing activities; transcription.
*Client interaction by phone, email and in person.
*Preparing, editing, proofreading, and assembling legal documents and correspondence.
*Preparing and filing court documents including electronically through Electronic Case Files (ECF) as needed.
Skills Required :
*Advanced knowledge and proficiency in MS Office.
*3+ years of prior legal administrative, or similar, experience.
*Litigation skills required.
*Experience with domestic law, including divorce and child support/custody and Court of Appeals filing
*Excellent Grammar and communication skills.
*Knowledge of court and agency processes and procedures.
*Ability to be flexible and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
*Proactive, organized, ability to manage multiple cases with deadlines, and detail-oriented.
*Reliability, attention to detail and confidentiality are essential.
