Cyperus Group LLC seeks a Paralegal to support its Legal Affairs team in New York. The role focuses on managing legal workflows, tracking compliance obligations, coordinating with internal departments and outside counsel, and supporting landlord-tenant matters in NY.

This full-time onsite position requires strong NY landlord-tenant knowledge, excellent communication, and meticulous document management as you assist with contracts, litigation notices, and compliance reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or ABA-approved paralegal certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience in real estate, landlord‑tenant, housing law, legal services, or property management.
  • Strong knowledge of New York State landlord‑tenant law and NYC court procedures.
  • Familiarity with supportive housing, homeless services, or similar environments preferred.
  • Proficiency with document management systems, databases, and standard business software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities with independent follow‑up skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to interpret complex information.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with internal teams and external partners.

Responsabilités

  • Serve as the first point of contact for vendor contracts, verifying entity details and ensuring accuracy.
  • Review contracts to identify required provisions, including insurance terms, termination language, and penalty clauses.
  • Coordinate with building staff, legal team members, and external landlord‑tenant counsel.
  • Maintain organized electronic document systems following departmental standards.
  • Track contract deadlines, obligations, renewals, and related requirements using designated databases.
  • Assist senior staff with monitoring vendor performance and resolving contract issues.
  • Support insurance claim follow‑up, including tracking tasks, correspondence, timelines, and preparing related reports.
  • Schedule and track risk‑inspection site visits, document recommendations, and monitor follow‑up actions.
  • Assist with legal matters such as new lawsuit notifications, subpoena responses, document requests, and discovery tasks.
  • Conduct legal and operational research, including reviewing policies for compliance and supporting planning for new initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
