State of Washington, Attorney General’s Office in Olympia, WA, is recruiting a non-permanent, full-time Paralegal 1 in the Agriculture & Health Division. The role supports Assistant Attorneys General in litigation, trial prep, and court filings for civil and appellate matters. End date through February 2027 with potential for extension.

Qualifications

• Combination of three years of experience through: Paralegal certification, Two-year paralegal degree, Paralegal plus (or nine-month paralegal, post BA) certification; and/or Paraprofessional experience in support of an attorney.
• Litigation knowledge: Knowledge of court rules, statutes, and timelines; understanding how to apply them to daily work.
• Adaptability/Flexibility: Adapts easily to changing business needs and responsibilities.
• Critical Thinking: Uses problem solving and decision-making skills in daily work.
• Communication Effectiveness: Clear written and verbal English; accurate translation of information.
• Workload Management: Handles multiple assignments and priorities while producing thorough work.
