Qualifications

• Combination of four years of experience through certifications, degrees, or paraprofessional experience.
• One year experience as Paralegal 1 in Washington State Service.
• Examples include preparing legal pleadings, ensuring timely service of documents, and calendaring critical events.

Responsibilities

• Provide Litigation Support: prepare letters, pleadings, and affidavits for litigation.
• Review responses to discovery requests and ensure completeness and proper objections.
• Research facts, identify legal issues, interview witnesses, and report findings to attorneys.
• Prepare for and participate in trials and hearings with the litigation team.
• Prepare witnesses and documentary evidence for trials, and assist in drafting contracts and tracking payments.
• File court documents and serve documents on opposing counsel; assist in filings in all forums.
• Provide support in class action and labor and personnel cases; set priorities per statutes and deadlines.
• Identify, organize, and manage documentary and electronic evidence from various sources.
• Review documents for privileged communications and statutorily protected information.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw, CBAs, and state archives.

Education

Paralegal certification
