Role Description

The Paralegal - Estate Planning role is a full-time, on-site position located on the Capitol Square. This role is responsible for supporting attorneys in the preparation and administration of estate planning and related documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate filings. Day-to-day tasks include conducting legal and factual research, organizing client information, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and maintaining accurate files and records. The paralegal will communicate regularly with clients, attorneys, and third parties to gather information, coordinate signatures and execution of documents, and ensure timelines are met. The role also involves assisting with scheduling, case tracking, and the use of firm technology and software to support efficient workflow and client service.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in estate planning with familiarity in probate and related practice areas.
  • Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related correspondence.
  • Skilled in research and document review, with attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies or issues.
  • Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with clients, attorneys, and external parties.
  • Professional demeanor and mature attitude; ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Relevant experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in estate planning or probate.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field; paralegal certification is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
  • Comfort with legal practice management software, document management systems, and standard office productivity tools.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and a client-focused, collaborative work style.
