Job summary

Voce is seeking Paralegals for the SWAN Legal Services Initiative to help remove barriers to permanency for children in the child welfare system. LSI paralegals work across county offices to support legal processes and permanency outcomes.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. You will draft documents, assist in hearings, prepare witnesses, train on LSI topics and collaborate with caseworkers to locate permanency resources.

Qualifications

• General knowledge/work experience in legal or child welfare.
• Associate's degree or paralegal certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Draft legal documents for solicitor review, including petitions, orders, motions and stipulations.
• Participate in county court hearings and pre-hearing conferences.
• Assist with lay and expert witness preparation for testimony.
• Facilitate and/or train on approved LSI training topics.
• Support county best practices.
• Conduct diligent searches to locate parents, relatives or other permanency resources with caseworkers.
• Other duties as assigned.
