Job summary
Delaware Department of Justice is hiring a Legal Assistant (Paralegal) to support attorneys in the Criminal Division and Domestic Violence Unit in New Castle County. Qualifications
- Education or experience in legal research such as statutes, regulations, case law
- Experience preparing and maintaining legal documents and case files
- Ability to interview using structured or unstructured techniques to obtain facts and explore issues
Responsibilities
- Prepare legal pleadings, briefs, motions, indictments, information and appeals
- Manage and organize case files and evidence across cases
- Assist with grand jury and trial preparation
- Coordinate with police agencies and other stakeholders
- Maintain communication with victims and witnesses throughout litigation
- Indictments and discoveries for homicide cases
