Qualifications

Position Overview

The Paralegal reports directly to Continental's General Counsel and will support a variety of legal corporate and transactional projects and initiatives across the business unit. This role will assist the General Counsel with improvements to legal operations supporting an expanding legal team and establishing positive, cross-functional relationships with internal clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the General Counsel to support various needs; provide a range of support through administrative and complex tasks.
  • Manage contract administration and compliance under the direction of the General Counsel.
  • Draft and revise various legal documents under the direction of General Counsel.
  • Maintain files, index and track documents.
  • Support a variety of legal and compliance projects and initiatives.
  • Manage and support outside counsel and third-party support vendors when needed.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Paralegal certificate is a plus but not required.
  • Notary Public is a plus but not required.
  • 5+ years of commercial paralegal experience and/or contract management background.
  • Combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize effectively among different projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management software.
  • Ability to analyze facts and law to strategically solve problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Legal and Business acumen.
  • Research skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite strongly desired (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Key stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
