Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a mid-level paralegal in Tampa, FL to support a busy civil litigation practice focused on mesothelioma cases. The role requires drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and coordinating depositions while maintaining meticulous file organization and timely communications with attorneys and clients.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of paralegal experience, a paralegal degree or certificate, and proven ability to work independently within a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with legal software and document management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; professional proofing and editing.

  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys, investigators, and paralegals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from onset through trial.
  • Draft pleadings, correspondence, authorizations, interrogatories, transmittal letters, and other legal documents.
  • File summonses and complaints, and coordinate service with vendors.
  • Prepare discovery requests and responses.
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions and calendar management.
  • Track client files and provide status updates to teams.
  • Perform extensive legal research using court rules and procedures.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including binders, exhibits, and coordination with experts and court staff.

Job Details
  • Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from onset through trial;
  • Draft pleadings, correspondence, authorizations, interrogatories, transmittal letters, and other legal documents;
  • File summonses and complaints, and work with vendors to effectuate service;
  • Prepare discovery requests and responses;
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions;
  • Track and monitor client files, calendars, and provide status updates;
  • Perform extensive internal and on-line legal research (court rules and procedures);
  • Assist with trial preparation, including trial binders, exhibits, coordinate with experts, opposing counsel, and court staff.

  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment (time and content sensitive deadlines);
  • Highly organized;
  • Strong computer and procedural skills;
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills;

Preferred Experience
  • 3 – 5 years of experience;
  • Paralegal degree or certificate;
  • Product liability or personal injury experience is a plus.
