Job summary

Pillinger Miller Tarallo, LLP in the New York metro area seeks a paralegal with at least three years of defense litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance defense litigation and exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Notary Public is a plus; paralegal degree or certificate is strongly preferred. Responsibilities include discovery review, drafting legal documents, depositions support, and e-filing with NYSCEF and PACER.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate/degree preferred.
• At least 3 years’ experience working at a defense law firm.
• Ability to complete trial prep work.
• Assisting in court filings and basic motion practice.
• Handling a No-Fault calendar.
• Understanding of the court system - when, where, why, and how to file certain motions.
• Familiarity with NY & NJ courts.
• Experience reviewing medical and accident reports.
• Having client contact experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze discovery documents, case materials and correspondence.
• Draft legal documents including third-party summons and complaints, notices of appearance, discovery responses, discovery demands, subpoenas, stipulations, consents to change attorneys, notice of entry, and other legal documents and correspondence.
• Assist with depositions.
• Obtain and maintain medical and other records.
• Coordinate investigations, expert examinations and inspections.
• Organize and maintain file documents.
• Assist with motions and preparation of exhibits.
• E-file documents with NYSCEF and PACER.
• Assist with pre-trial and trial preparation.

Job description

New York Metro Area law firm with national practice seeks paralegal with at least three (3) year’s defense litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance defense litigation and possess exceptional organizational and communication skills. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of cases and collaborate with attorneys to provide outstanding legal support. Notary Public license a plus. Paralegal Degree or Certificate strongly preferred.

Essential Functions

• Review and analyze discovery documents, case materials and correspondence.
• Draft legal documents including third-party summons and complaints, notices of appearance, discovery responses, discovery demands, subpoenas, stipulations, consents to change attorneys, notice of entry, and other legal documents and correspondence.

Salary Range:

$55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year - Commensurate with Experience
