Job Description
Description

Reeves Lavallee, P.C. is a Worcester-based family law and civil litigation firm, and we're looking for an experienced paralegal to support our growing legal team. This is a role for someone who takes real ownership of case files, keeps court deadlines from ever becoming a fire drill, and treats client confidentiality as a given, not a reminder.

You'll work directly with attorneys on family law matters from intake through trial preparation — drafting, filing, client interviews, discovery, and everything in between. If you do your best work inside a clear system, hold yourself to a high standard on accuracy, and want to be trusted with real responsibility rather than just paperwork, you'll fit well here.

About Reeves Lavallee PC

Reeves Lavallee, P.C. is a Worcester-based family law and civil litigation firm known for high standards, professional excellence, and complete dedication to client care.

Our core values are STEWARD:

  • Stewardship and Integrity — Always do the right thing, even when no one is watching. Act with sound judgment, professionalism, and ethical responsibility in all matters entrusted to you.
  • Transparency and Honesty — Take ownership of mistakes, communicate truthfully, learn from experience, and apply improvements moving forward.
  • Excellence with Compassion — Approach every task with care, patience, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Treat colleagues and clients with respect while striving for high-quality outcomes.
  • Work with Focus — Give full attention to the task at hand and follow it through to completion. Minimize distractions and manage responsibilities efficiently and responsibly.
  • Accountability and Responsibility — Be accountable to clients, colleagues, and yourself. Own your actions, correct errors promptly, and move forward constructively.
  • Reliability and Adherence to Deadlines — Meeting deadlines and honoring commitments are critical to team success.
  • Diligence in a Drama-Free Environment — Maintain a professional, respectful workplace. Avoid gossip, elevate concerns appropriately, and contribute positively to team culture and morale.

We guarantee clients consistent communication, timely updates, and reliable support throughout their legal matter. Our team members are expected to uphold these values daily and contribute to a professional environment where excellence, responsibility, and respect define the culture.

Requirements

The sections below are organized the same way we structure paralegal performance reviews at this firm — what you'll be doing here is exactly what you'll be measured on.

Legal Knowledge and Proficiency
  • Extensive experience as a paralegal specifically in Family Law — including Financial Statements, Discovery, and Motions & Pleadings.
  • Conduct legal research and apply findings directly to case work.
  • Draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • This firm treats real estate transaction documents (purchases and sales) as a connected part of the practice, not a separate specialty — experience here is a real plus.
Client Interaction and Support
  • Interview clients to gather information about their legal matters, with sensitivity to what are often difficult family circumstances.
  • Explain legal procedures clearly and professionally.
  • Maintain confidentiality and client trust without exception.
Case Management
  • Keep the case filing system organized so every document is readily accessible.
  • Prepare for trial: legal research, organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses.
  • File motions and meet every court deadline — no exceptions.
Collaboration and Team Support
  • Work directly with attorneys preparing documentation and correspondence — interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, affidavits.
  • Coordinate law office activity, including drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers.
  • Support and help train newer team members as the team grows.
Document Accuracy and Attention to Detail
  • Accuracy in drafting and reviewing legal documents, with thorough fact-checking and citation verification.
  • Keep case files updated and accurate at all times.
Problem-Solving and Initiative
  • Identify issues proactively and propose practical solutions.
  • Bring initiative to improving case handling and office procedures.
Communication Skills
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Ability to explain complex legal information simply and clearly.
Professionalism and Ethical Conduct
  • Adherence to legal and ethical standards in every matter.
  • Represent the firm's STEWARD values in every interaction, internal and external.
Adaptability and Learning
  • Flexibility adapting to new laws or firm procedures.
  • Engagement in continuing legal education.

  • High-level organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience drafting and managing Real Estate transaction documents (purchases and sales).
